Riot Games recently released patch 8.09 for their popular first-person shooter game, Valorant. While the patch brought some updates and improvements, players have reported several bugs and issues that have affected their gaming experience. In this article, we'll take a closer look at some of the most significant bugs reported by the Valorant community.
Minimap and Overlay Map Issues on Lotus
On the Lotus map, the minimap and overlay map at the breakable door choke point into B site have not been updated to reflect the map changes since patch 8.0. This has caused issues for controller agents like Brimstone, Astra, and Clove, who may smoke the choke point too shallow from the defenders' side or when attacking from the breakable door.
Frame Rate Drops and Performance Issues
Many players have reported experiencing frequent frame rate drops below 60 FPS on various computers, even those with stable performance in the past. These issues have occurred across different hardware configurations, including machines with RTX 2080 and GTX 980 graphics cards. Some players have also reported hard downspikes on high-end systems, such as those with a Ryzen 9 5900X and RTX 3080.
Raze's Satchel > Ult > Satchel Technique Bug
Raze's Satchel > Ult > Satchel technique no longer quick draws the ultimate ability if the second satchel is used milliseconds after activating the ultimate.
Team Deathmatch Highlighting Issues
In Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode, some players have reported that enemies are not being highlighted correctly, while teammates are sometimes highlighted as enemies.
Network Error VAN 1067
Some players have experienced disconnects from the game every 2-3 minutes, accompanied by the network error message "VAN 1067."
Ping and Server Connection Issues
Players in certain regions, such as central Africa, have reported significantly increased ping to servers like Bahrain and Cape Town since the start of the new act. The lowest ping achievable for these players is now around 150 on the London server, which is much farther away than the previously playable servers.
Client Crashes and Infinite Loop
Some players have encountered an issue where the client crashes and enters an infinite loop of starting up and crashing again when a small game update occurs while queued for a game. This results in players being unable to rejoin the game and receiving leaver or queue dodge penalties.
Headshot Kill Banner Reticle Placement
The red reticle in the headshot kill banner appears lower than it should for all players.
Keyboard Disabled When Launching the Game
Some players have reported that their keyboard becomes disabled when launching Valorant and remains disabled until they restart their laptop. Closing the game does not resolve the issue.Riot Games is actively working on addressing these bugs and issues to ensure a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience for all Valorant players. Players are encouraged to report any additional bugs or problems they encounter through the appropriate channels to help the development team identify and resolve them promptly.
